It provides one tap access to nearby services and amenities such as bars, restaurants, taxis, takeouts and gas stations. Vicinity also utilizes your location to display nearby Wikipedia articles and photographs from both flickr and Panoramio, providing a useful source of education and interesting places to visit.
The location list shows all the places and their distance from you in real time, and is sorted so you can quickly select the nearest. Simply tap an item to view details and photos, visit websites, phone or get directions.

Useless for gas stations
1st review of an app ever. I live in TX, home of oil companies. So I I ask for a gas station, ANY business related pops up. That's pretty useless. Heck I even got a medical supply sales company. And the. I have found times where it shows one gas station near me, and LI and behold I get there and there is a station (different brands) on each corner. So how many gas stations have I missed? Wish I could say something better, but that's just poor quality control. Certainly not worth 2.99.
