Don't start playing
The events are disguised money grabs in the form of buying mojo. At one point 75% of new buildings were $ or mojo ($) or gambling cart ($). Took over a year to get some maintenance for the harvest orb. Still doesn't have needed fixes, and items asked for go ignored, but they will put events during holiday hours. The free catch rate for events for free catching can be 0 or less than 5% for quite a while and unless you pay mojo($) you will spend days without getting some of the higher items. One of the employees blasted us saying we were malicious for telling others the truth.
So hold onto your money and play the game free. Go to mojo-farm.com forums and you will understand why so many long time players quit or are sick of what goes on.
Greed
When I started playing this game it was fun and very rewarding. Now most of the new content requires spending mojo or astronomical amounts of gold and don't even think you'll be able to complete the special events without spending mojo. It was fun while it lasted but it's time to go.
