Description
Wind Speed is an anemometer (wind meter) that works surprisingly accurate since it only measures inputs to iPhone's and Headphones microphone. Various algorithms isolate wind from other sounds like noise and human voice.

Wind Speed can not measure winds below 5mph because low wind does not make noise in microphone. If you measure wind while driving a car, try at 45 angle towards wind for better results!

Consider the following
It doesn't read under 5 mph. So you must add five to the number it reads. Also it must be held sideways in open air to pick up the whisle of the gust at the right moment for the acual wind speed. I work on a boat and it is almost accurate with these ajustments. For complainees, don't except speeds in a city or enclosed area.
Fairly accurate...
I dunno, this thing seems pretty accurate. Not perfect, but pretty damn good. The way you hold it does make a big difference. Not exactly sure when I'll use it, other than the usual "look at what my phone can do". I have a speedometer in my car and on the boats. I can't really think of any practical uses. But it functions as advertised and it does it well, that's what reviews should be about.

I have used this app for nearly two years now and it works very well. I have compared readings with accurate wind meters and at worst, only a few tenths off! Great app!
