What's New in Version 1.1
We scrubbed our board database to remove boards that had multiple solutions. In addition we made the easiest boards a bit easier and even more symmetric. Thanks to Pound100 for pointing out our slip.

My favorite sudoku!
I'm really impressed with this app. It looks great, but more importantly it has a lot of cool features that make it the friendliest Sudoku I've tried! Every other app has "give me a free hint square", but this one goes further by helping you with the tracking notation (possible values for a square) and keeping that up to date as you make guesses. I can't judge the quality of the generated puzzles because I'm only a medium-level solver myself, but it has three difficulty levels so should even be a challenge for experts!
Zen perfection ... almost
A beautiful sudoku implementation: fast, unadorned, and elegant. With its few, well-chosen helper features turned off, it is a near-exact representation of the paper game. The easy/medium/hard levels are better chosen than in any other app I've tried: easy is easy, medium is properly challenging, and hard is hard.
After trying many Sudoku apps, however, I have to deduct a star from this one for 3 reasons.
(1) No "undo" button. A simple 1-level undo -- an "oops!" button -- would be perfect, e.g. for those occasions when one forgets one is in enter-mode rather than notes-mode and ends up wiping out all one's painstakingly accumulated pencil marks in a cell.
(2) Small size of number keys. With limited screen space, making room for both a large board and easy-to-hit number buttons is a challenge, but finding a good solution is critical for speed solving. The app that impresses me the most in this regard is Alexandre Minard's Sudoku Maniak (also comes with PuzzleManiak). To accomodate large number keys he uses a pop-up transparent keypad that fills the screen. I find all the small-key arrangements frustrating by comparison.
(3) The thin feature set of this app is part of its zen charm ... but I do miss a couple of favourite features, notably a timer. Very non-Zen, I realize, but perhaps an (optional) *hidden* timer could be added? I.e. your equanimity would be preserved by hiding the timer while the game is on, but you could check your time at the end.
If the developers tweak in any two of these suggestions, I'll be thrilled to rate this a 5-star Zen Masterpiece.
Too few games
I keep playing but they are the same puzzles. Need more!!!
