A fun, yet very short experience.
Zombies & Me is a very simple game to get into. You play as a guy who tries to protect his Grandmother and her house from death by zombie for as long as possible. Click or Hold (depending on control choice) to go where you want, get close to the zombies to make them chase you instead of attack granny, and lead them into blast zones where they will explode once the missiles touch down. If you get caught by the zombies, you will have to continuously click the screen to break away from them, and if you wait too long a heart will eventually appear at the top of the screen warning that you are near death. Get munched on a little longer and you'll be treated to the "torn apart" game over screen. The other two ways to die are to get blown up by the missiles yourself, or to let Granny's health bar reach zero. The graphics are very charming as are the things Granny screams from her house (if you can catch them as you're running around), and the music does well as background creepy horror music. A nice feature the game has is the ability to play your own iTunes music or turn the sound of all together. As for suggestions, I really hope in future updates more levels will be added as playing on the one grass lawn level with some rocks and trees gets old fast, and it would be cool if new level environments could affect gameplay (slippery ice, maybe a summer sand level with some water, small rocks that can trip the character, etc.). Also I thought basic enhancements could make the game much more interesting even if they only put in "run speed increase/decrease" powerups as it would add some much needed variety. Online leaderboards should have been implemented into the initial release, and I really hope they do eventually get put in. However the game does keep track of many of your various personal statistics, as well as your overall play time, but there is no way to "share" any of that info. All in all the game is fun for short bursts and very pleasing to look at, but the lack of variety and options in its initial release make it a much less stellar package than many other $1 titles available. Since the developers have claimed to be shooting for making a $1 title per month, it's really got me concerned as to whether they will continue to support and add to their titles, or just leave them be in their release versions.
Owned for 5 minutes. Bored after 2.
Here's the basic concept: Run in circles.
Expanded version: Run in circles.
There's almost no point to the game, just endless streams of zombies which you run from until you get them to run into a missile zone. That just about sums it up.
If you've got 2 minutes to spare, then pick this one up. If you're looking for something you can spend a bit more time on before getting bored... This might not be the one for you.
Fun little app!
Boom goes the dynamite! This game is small and has frenetic fun elements. For half the price of a soda at cheesecake factory it is a lot of fun.
