About Big Something

North Carolina's Big Something fuse warm funk and rock rhythms with sunny pop melodies, creating an appealing jam-oriented sound that mixes horns, guitars, synths, and rich harmonies. Formed in 2009, the Burlington-based sextet made their recording debut the following year with Stories from the Middle of Nowhere. Seasoning their blend with several years of touring, Big Something returned in 2013 with their self-titled sophomore LP, which became a critics' favorite among jam organizations like Endless Boundaries radio and the Home Grown Music Network. Their third release, Truth Serum, arrived in late 2014 as the band continued to tour and build up a national fan base, opening shows for artists like Robert Randolph, Umphrey's McGee, and the B-52's. Working again with producer John Custer, Big Something recorded their fourth studio release, Tumbleweed, which was released in February 2017. ~ Timothy Monger
