About Greaseball

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember back I was 13 years old and I first started writing rhymes. I would write 3, maybe 4 songs every single night back then. As soon as I'd finish recording one, I'd close the project and start the next one. They were all pretty bad but still. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jonathan Richman, The Modern Lovers, Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers (Expanded Version) Nas, Illmatic Nina Simone, The Best of Nina Simone Illmatic is nearly undebatable as being the best rap album of the 90's, the only acceptable contender is GZA's Liquid Swords but I didn't grow up with it like Illmatic. Jonnathan Richman and Nina Simone are my two favorite songwriters of all time. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Brown Skinned Martha” I still love this song after all these years because it's different and weird. It's a song about a long-lost love for a tough-ass chola who has died. It's also somehow about fears, inferiority, and it challanges the usual gender roles in songs. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing the Observatory in Orange County, to a crowd full of people and being able to tell that they were really vibing with me. It was a purely hip-hop nerd crowd and I remember feeling so seen and appreciated, like I never had been before. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd like to do some international shows, places like Europe, Tokyo, maybe even just the East coast out here but I really want to go far out there.
