About Snowdogs

The London-based alt-metal act Snowdogs is comprised of Ville Leppanen (vocals/guitar), Mat Leppanen (bass), and Benjy Reid (drums). The Leppanen brothers, who are of Finnish decent, attended American schools while training as classical pianists in the late '90s. Once school was out of the way, the pair joined Reid for Snowdogs. Snowdogs' debut album, Animal Farm, appeared in 2001 and was a critical hit among the British press. Such praise also led Snowdogs to a U.S. deal with Victory a year later. Dates with MXPX, Less Than Jake, and the Alkaline Trio sharpened the boys' live performance while strengthening their rock & roll hunger. Such maturation was found on Snowdogs' sophomore effort, Deep Cuts, Fast Remedies, released in early 2003. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
