About Kierra Sheard
At age 10, gospel singer-songwriter Kierra Sheard won a Stellar Award for her recording debut—a duet with her mom, The Clark Sisters’ Karen Clark Sheard—called “The Will of God.” ∙ Her 2004 LP, I Owe You, became the first debut album to enter Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart at No. 1. ∙ Sheard had a surprise No. 1 radio hit in Japan with 2005’s horn-peppered soul-pop single “Let Go.” ∙ She made her first Billboard Hot 100 appearance with a vocal feature on Mary Mary’s R&B-influenced hit “God In Me,” which also topped the dance charts and won a Grammy Award. ∙ Nominated three times for the Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album Grammy Award, she’s won several Stellar Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year in 2013. ∙ In the 2020 biopic The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel, Sheard played her mother, Karen Clark Sheard. ∙ She’s had five No. 1 gospel albums, including 2020’s Kierra, and she contributed vocals to No. 1 gospel hits by GEI and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.
