At 5, I sat in a recording studio on my dad’s lap and watched him pen lyrics to a song, then watched in awe as he recorded it. I can't recall the song or much else about that day, but I'm sure that moment is what shaped my deep love for music. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? DMX, It's Dark and Hell Is Hot Makaveli, The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory Nas, Stillmatic My top 3 favorite albums on Apple Music are DMX's 'It's Dark and Hell Is Hot,' Makaveli's 'The Don Killuminati,' and Nas 'Stillmatic.' Much of what inspired me around the start of my career and since is performed on these three albums. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Smoke With Me (Radio Edit)” I chose Smoke With Me because it's the first song my wife and I created together. She's the producer. It's her first release ever and our first together, and the one that gave her the confidence to keep making music. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable moment in my career was the time I ran into Janet Jackson at Virgin Records and spoke to her saying "hello", and she spoke back saying "Hey Dorasel". I was so blown away that she knew my name. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I dream of going platinum, winning a Grammy, performing at iconic venues, and doing a world tour with Snoop. But my ultimate bucket list item is to inspire some kind of positive and measurable change in the world.
