Farin Urlaub

About Farin Urlaub

As the longtime frontman for Die Ärzte, Farin Urlaub spearheaded the German punk rock revolution, profoundly impacting Central European music and culture to the point that Urlaub's satirical and often political songs are even taught in German schools. The group's success lasted decades, beginning in 1982, and when Die Ärzte took a hiatus in 2001, Urlaub released his first-ever solo disc, Endlich Urlaub!, under the moniker Farin Urlaub Racing Team. From then on, Urlaub balanced his time between Die Ärzte and his solo career releasing his second solo album, Am Ende der Sonne, in 2005, which featured his most personal and revealing songs to date, and Livealbum of Death a year later. ~ Jason Ankeny
