Regional Mexican frontmen Toño y Freddy spent years working in professional groups before striking out on their own and establishing one of their region's most reputable groups. Originally from Nuñez, Michoacán, the two spent more than a decade with La Dinastía de Tuzantla but wished to reflect the authentic flavor of their beloved campo, or countryside. The group's debut disc, Recuerdo de una Noche, climbed the charts on the strength of hit single "Lo Lindo de Ti," peaking in the Top 20 on Billboard's Regional Mexican chart. Their sophomore release, Morenita Labios Rojos, hit number three on the Regional Mexican chart and helped establish strong followings in Chicago, L.A., and Texas. ~ Evan C. Gutierrez
