Hailing from Hinds County, Mississippi, guitarist Lil’ Dave Thompson was born into a musical family and formed his first band at the age of 14. After tenures with numerous blues and R&B bands, and some time playing on the road, Thompson established his own voice with his well received 1995 Fat Possum debut, LITTLE DAVE AND BIG LOVE. Thompson’s high octane, stinging guitar style is reminiscent of Little Milton and Albert King, but, as subsequent albums like C’MON DOWN TO THE DELTA (2002) and GOT TO GET OVER YOU (2005) prove, Lil’ Dave Thompson’s strength is in channeling the rich legacy of the blues into his own sound.
