About Alex Under

Alex Under is a Spanish minimal techno producer affiliated with the esteemed German label Traum Schallplatten as well as Net28, a Madrid collective including his own label, CMYK Musik. Based in Madrid, Under had a hand in founding Net28 along with, among others, fellow Spanish minimal techno producers Damián Schwartz and Imek; the collective includes these producers, in addition to others, and also includes the labels Apnea, Bemysheep, CMYK Musik, Cyclical Tracks, Mupa, and Pulpa. Under inaugurated his CMYK label in 2002 with the 12" release Verde Guisante, followed by a series of others including Gris Oveja (2004), Rojo Par y Pasa (2005), Naranja Monje (2006), and Gris Anthemo (2007). He also appeared occasionally on the Apnea label run by Net28 colleagues Imek and José Villalobos with 12" releases including Multiplicanciones (2004) and Multiplicanciones2 (2006). Most notably, Under released a series of music on Traum Schallplatten, including the full-length album Dispositivos de Mi Granja (2005) and the 12" EPs Las Bicicletas Son Para el Verano (2005), Sorbere Cerebros (2005), Las Bicicletas Son Para el Verano Remixes (2005), Fe en Erratas (2006), 1,2,3, Responda Otrapez (2007), and Trapezones Erectos & Extrapezlo Remixes (2008). Plus, he released Collage (2006), a 12" EP on another esteemed label, Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 Records. In addition to his solo productions, Under released music as Música Charlista, a collaboration with Damián Schwartz on the Net28 labels CMYK Musik and Apnea; Dolly la Parton, an alias he uses for releases on the Net28 label Bemysheep; Friendly People, an alias he uses for releases on the Net28 labels Apnea and Cyclical Tracks; and Varios, an alias he uses for releases on the Net 28 label Apnea. ~ Jason Birchmeier
