When recording as Bodycode, electronic artist Alan Abrahams takes an almost new age approach to house music, creating swirling melodies intended to “unlock the psyche via the body.” Abrahams was raised in South Africa, moved to London and then Lisbon, before settling in Berlin. The lush and exotic, polyrhythmic, yet thoroughly melodic sounds he create reflect his nomadic early existence, interweaving tribal beats, techno bleeps, otherworldly vocal samples, and a few kitchen sinks.
