About Saving Abel

The American rock band Saving Abel blends unabashed machismo with a pinch of sensitivity in songs tinged with Southern rock and post-grunge. ∙ In 2005, singer Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null recorded demos in Memphis with veteran producer Skidd Mills, and in 2008 they signed a record deal. ∙ Cowritten by Mills, the Platinum-certified single “Addicted” was the band’s first big success, reaching the Top 20 on five Billboard charts in 2008. ∙ Saving Abel had seven straight Top 15 Mainstream Rock radio hits, including 2010’s chart-topping “The Sex Is Good,” between 2008 and 2012. ∙ In 2011, the group played USO shows for American troops in Kuwait and for military personnel and their families at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. ∙ The anti-bullying-themed video for the hit title track of their third album, 2012’s Bringing Down the Giant, was filmed in the band’s hometown of Corinth, Mississippi.
