About Brotherhood

Before he became a luminary in the doom/drone world, Greg Anderson was part of the short-lived hardcore band Brotherhood. Formed in 1987 by Anderson along with singer John White, bassist Ken Hagel, and drummer Victor Hart, Brotherhood crafted a straight-edge hardcore sound in the mold of bands like Minor Threat, channeling their aggression toward social issues as they opened for bands like Youth of Today and Angry Samoans. During its brief lifespan, the band put out only a handful of releases, including the Brotherhood of Friends demo in 1988 and a pair of 7" singles, No Tolerance for Ignorance and Words Run...As Thick as Blood, before disbanding in 1989. ~ Gregory Heaney
