About Rat Cat Hogan
The Seattle, WA, rock band Rat Cat Hogan was formed, according to multi-instrumentalist Herbert Bergel, in the fall of 1997 when he placed an ad in The Rocket, the local music paper, looking for a drummer, and the ad was answered by Robbie Skrocki. The group became a vehicle for Bergel's idiosyncratic autobiographical musings, set to punk rock tracks. Their initial release on Elsinor Records was a cassette with Don't Call Me Twaddy on one side and Eet Ees Too Kolt to Go Swimmink on the other. In 1999, Phonograph Records released both the single Rat Cat Hogan 7" and the album Our Apologies to Walla. Rat Cat Hogan With Friends, released in 2000 on Professor Borg Records, added several guest musicians; the same year, the label issued Return from Uzhgorod. Elsinor Records released Vitamins + Calcium = Health & Happiness in 2002. In March 2005 came We're Bicoastal on Skrocki Records. ~ William Ruhlmann
