Chencha Berrinches

About Chencha Berrinches

Latin rock band Chencha Berrinches (name based on Lorenza, aka Chencha, a woman from Guanajuato, Mexico) started playing in South Gate, CA, in 1997. The nine-piece ensemble called their style Mexisca, a mixture of Cumbia/pop, Latin ska, Mexican traditional music, and rock. After their original lead singer, Javier Oviedo, decided to leave, Chencha Berrinches' debut album, called A Lo Que Truje Chencha, was released. ~ Drago Bonacich
