About The Whore Moans

Seattle garage punks the Whore Moans could well be the post-emo reincarnation of early Mudhoney: a similar mix of bratty insolence, vintage Nuggets, early metal influences, and unexpectedly poppy hooks is at play in their teenage kicks. The core of the group formed as high-school friends in Tacoma, WA; singer and guitarist Nick Anderson, lead guitarist Jonny Henningson, and bassist Ryan Devlin (not to be confused with the semi-famous television actor of the same name) moved to nearby Seattle and formed the Whore Moans with local drummer Jason Kilgor in 2005. Forming the combination record label and artistic collective Wizard Rock, complete with a communal house in downtown Seattle, the Whore Moans began developing a local reputation through regular hometown and regional gigs while recording their debut album with local power pop legend Johnny Sangster (the Posies, Mudhoney, Murder City Devils, etc.). That album, Watch Out for This Thing, was released by Wizard Rock in the spring of 2007. ~ Stewart Mason
