About Trash

One of Sweden's more obscure entries into the 1980's hard rock scene, Stockholm's Trash featured vocalist Tony Roy Taylor, guitarists Mike "Mojo" Mocadem and Gene Ball, bassist Pete "PJ" Jaegerhult, and drummer Rudy "Runner" Fluch. Seemingly inspired by both Hanoi Rocks and AC/DC, the quintet debuted in impressive fashion with 1983's underground classic Watch Out, then followed it a couple of years later with the Atlantic Records-released, Max Norman-produced Burnin' Rock opus. But, although it led to a U.S. tour in support of Bon Jovi and Keel, and introduced a new rhythm section consisting of Muppet-named bassist Cay Coda and drummer Henrik "Hempo Bobo" Hilden, Burnin' Rock ultimately proved less successful than the big guns now investing in the band expected. Trash actually made it as far as starting the sessions for their proposed third album (to be produced in New York by Eddie Kramer) before suddenly splitting up, but its members went on to enjoy domestic success with numerous Swedish bands in later years. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
