Dweezil Zappa

About Dweezil Zappa

The second child of Frank and Gail Zappa was born Ian Donald Calvin Euclid Zappa on September 5, 1969; nicknamed Dweezil from birth, his name was officially changed when he was seven. A child prodigy guitarist inspired equally by his dad and metal virtuosos like Eddie Van Halen, Dweezil made guest appearances on his father's albums while still in his early teens. His progressive rock- and metal-influenced solo career began with 1986's HAVIN' A BAD DAY, and also includes a 1990s band, Z, featuring brother Ahmet Zappa on vocals. Zappa maintains a side career as an actor and TV presenter.
