About One Block Radius

California-based alternative rap trio One Block Radius cite influences including the Pharcyde and De La Soul as well as Sublime and Hall & Oates. They made their recording debut, "Look Out Below," on the Hieroglyphics-affiliated compilation Hiero Imperium Presents: The Building (2004). Their full-length debut, Long Story Short, followed a year later. Their breakthrough came courtesy of group member Marty James, whose contribution to the Federation single "I Wear My Stunna Glasses at Night" garnered a lot of attention; he soon had a variety of collaboration offers. Furthermore, One Block Radius were offered a recording contract with Island Def Jam, on which they released a self-titled album in 2008. ~ Jason Birchmeier
