About Page Cavanaugh
Jazz vocalist and pianist Page Cavanaugh began playing during childhood, and following WWII he formed a successful trio with bass player Lloyd Pratt and guitarist Al Viola. Together they scored a minor hit with "Walkin’ My Baby Back Home," and backed a number of artists, including Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé, and Sarah Vaughan. The trio also appeared in several films including FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER (1958), which featured the Cavanaugh composition "Daddy Bird." Cavanaugh continued to perform into the 2000s relying on a relaxed, unpretentious smooth jazz sound that he perfected long before the term even existed.
