About Little Teeth

Residing somewhere between noise-pop and freak folk, San Francisco trio Little Teeth formed in 2004, after drummer Ammo Eisu replied to a Craigslist posting by vocalist/guitarist Dannie Murrie, who was in search of a "feminist rocker chick" to play music with her. After moving to California from Connecticut, where she had attained a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at Yale, Eisu met Murrie in person and the two paired up to make music together in a basement studio. Andy Tisdall, the lone male of the group, was invited to get involved and play bass with the girls after he attended an audio engineering class with Murrie. Their first album, Child Bearing Man, took almost 14 months to record, with the three members sharing vocal duties and swapping instruments along the way, overdubbing mandolin, accordion, cello, pots, pans, and electronic samples. After its completion, hometown label Absolutely Kosher released the record on September 9, 2008. ~ Jason Lymangrover
