About Star 69

Led by vocalist/songwriter Julie Daniels, Star 69 is a mid-'90s alternative guitar-pop band. A native of Los Angeles, Daniels formed Star 69 in London. Over the course of 1996, the group released two independent singles and performed at the Reading Festival before signing with Radioactive Records. By the fall, they relocated to Los Angeles, where they recorded their debut album with producer Don Smith, who had previously worked with Cracker and John Hiatt. The resulting album, Eating February, was released early in 1997. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
