About Sad Rockets

Sad Rockets is the project of Andrew Pekler, a Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist born in Uzbekistan and raised in California. His diverse background is reflected in his bedroom studio-crafted music, which mixes rock, funk, and electronica with a filmic feel and a sense of humor. Sad Rockets debuted in 1998 with the Source release Plays; the next year, Pekler followed it with Once Upon a Time Called Now on Morbid. He moved to Matador for Sad Rockets' third album Transition, which was released in fall 2000. In addition to Sad Rockets, Pekler also plays with the electronic/lounge outfit Bergheim 34 and the rock band Mucus 2. ~ Heather Phares
