In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 12 years old Danilo Perez invited me to sit in with his trio at Scullers in Boston. His generosity showed me that I could have a voice in this music if I wanted to. It was an experience I will always remember. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Getting the invitation from Dick Oatts to join the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. Playing at the greatest jazz venue in the world every week is a dream come true, and it's an honor to follow in the footsteps of Sir Roland Hanna, Hank Jones, and others. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To tour and record more of my own music as a leader. I've enjoyed many years of working as a sideman, but I now think I have a voice to throw into the mix as a bandleader and composer.
