About Foxhole

A post-rock group started by college students with a shared interest in acts such as Fugazi and Shellac, as well as Kentucky's own Rodan and Slint, Foxhole formed at Western Kentucky University in 2000. Featuring traditional instruments like bass, guitar, and drums as well as woodwinds, brass, and strings, their songs became increasingly engaged in hypnotic repetition and cinematic builds by the arrival of their full-length debut, We the Wintering Tree, in 2004. Life events involving geographic separation delayed their even more expansive second LP, Well Kept Thing, until 2018. It was mastered by Shellac's Bob Weston. ~ Marcy Donelson
