Issa Gadala

About Issa Gadala

Issa Gadala is a bachata singer who made his Casandra Award-winning debut with 10 Segundos in 2009. Born Issa Johnny Jadalla-Maria Miguel on July 15, 1981, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, he initially established himself in his homeland before crossing over to the United States. In addition to the singles "Devuelveme" and "Busco Enamorarme," re-released editions of the 10 Segundos tacked on the follow-up hit "El Perdedor" as a bonus track. The singer's debut effort won him a Casandra Award for Revelación del Año in 2009. Gadala's follow-up effort, Con Sabor a Bachata (2011), was even more successful, hitting the Billboard singles charts stateside with the tropical hit "Arrepentida." ~ Jason Birchmeier
