British pop trio BBMak, unlike many of their teen-friendly peers, play their own instruments and write and produce most of their music, as well. After recording a demo, BBMak camped outside the headquarters of major labels and performed on the street. A few gigs later, BBMak was the focus of a bidding war and the group soon secured a deal. Their debut single, "Back Here," was a hit in the U.K. and Japan, paving the way for their debut album, Sooner or Later, which was released in the U.S. in spring 2000 by Hollywood Records.
