Pako & Frederik

About Pako & Frederik

The Dutch house music production duo Pako & Frederik first met in 1992 but it wasn't until 1993 that they decided to combine their production styles. Both had been traveling around Europe, spinning house music at finer clubs, and Frederik had released some tracks on his own Gyrate label. They recorded their first single, "Vauvenage," in the south of France and followed it with club hits like "The Magic Shop" and "Seaside Atmosphere." In 1996 they introduced their Majestic Music label, and soon DJs like Carl Cox, Derrick Carter, and John Digweed were including Pako & Frederik productions on their mix CDs. By 2001, John Digweed was picking up Pako & Frederik tracks for release on his Bedrock label and a busy DJ schedule brought the duo to America. In 2003, Global Underground released their full-length debut, Atlantic Breakers. ~ David Jeffries
