The Australian power trio Cosmic Psychos have always served their rugged, punk-influenced pub rock with a side of self-mocking humor and healthy irreverence. The group emerged in the early '80s when guitarist Peter Jones, bassist Ross Knight, and drummer Bill Walsh left their respective high school bands to form a new, more professional outfit. Their independent debut, DOWN ON THE FARM, followed in 1985. The band began to command a modest following on the American grunge scene after their second album, GO THE HACK, was picked up the influential American indie label Sub Pop. Renowned for their live performances, the group maintained a grueling touring schedule and continued to release driving, Motorhead-derived rock on various American indie labels.
