Chokebore

About Chokebore

With the exception of a couple early member changes, Chokebore primarily consisted of guitarist John Kroll, drummer Christian Omar Madrigal Izzo, vocalist Troy Bruno Von Balthazar, and bassist A. Frank G (aka James Kroll). The members migrated from Honolulu in the early '90s and tried to make waves in the L.A. rock scene, finally getting noise label AmRep to release their self-titled demo in 1993. Their MOTIONLESS LP followed soon after, as well as tours with bands like Nirvana and Today Is The Day. Over the next eight years, the group released five more albums, concluding with 2003's A PART FROM LIFE. Chokecore's legacy has been most influential on those contemporary bands looking to merge '90s alt-rock noise with slowcore aesthetics.
