About Bauer

Translated as "Chicken," the Dutch duo of Bauer formed when founder Berend Dubbe left the Dutch pop/rock outfit Bettie Serveert in July of 1999 and decided to go it on his own with a eight track machine and a handful of slightly oddball '60s and '70s pop melodies. His first solo effort was recorded by himself and titled On the Move. It was released by Holland's Excelsior Recordings in 2000, and with it, Bauer started to develop a solid critical following. Dubbe enrolled Sonja van Hamel to record their sophomore effort, Can't Stop Singing, which was released by Partners in Crime Records in 2001. Can't Stop Singing earned high marks with critics and continued with the band's dreamy revival of soft pop from the '60s and '70s. ~ Nate Cavalieri
