Hosannas

About Hosannas

Indie rock band Hosannas was formed by singer/guitarist brothers Brandon Laws and Richard Laws in Portland, OR, in 2007 with keyboard player Cristof Hendrickson. Originally, the group was called Church; after percussionist Lane Barrington joined, they adopted the new name Hosannas. Their debut album, Song Force Crystal, was released on the Tender Loving Empire label in 2009. On May 11, 2010, Hush Records released Then & Now & Then, giving broader release to tracks originally issued on the band's self-released CD-Rs from their days as Church, With All Our Love for Francisco the Man, and the Gold EP, along with four previously unreleased tracks. On June 28, 2010, the official website www.hosannasmusic.com announced the "surprising news" that "Cristof and Lane are both leaving Hosannas to pursue their own music(s). Richard and Brandon are going to continue playing shows as Hosannas. It has been more than fun and we are all still friends. There are no plans to replace them, instead the music is going to change a bit." ~ William Ruhlmann
