About Fist
This Canadian heavy rock quartet was formed in 1978 by vocalist/guitarist Ron Chenier. After several false starts and numerous line-up changes, the band stabilized with Chenier, plus Laurie Curry (keyboards), Bob Moffat (bass) and Bob Patterson (drums). Influenced by Triumph, Rush and Led Zeppelin, they released five albums of generally average hard rock between 1979 and 1985, with In The Red from 1983 being undoubtedly the strongest. This featured the highly talented Dave McDonald on lead vocals instead of Chenier, who lacked both range and power. In order to prevent confusion with the British band Fist, their albums were released under the name Myofist in Europe.
