About Jarvis Cocker
Brit-pop icon and pop music bon vivant Jarvis Cocker first found fame with his band Pulp. Concurrent with Pulp's demise in the early 2000s, Cocker moved to Paris and engaged in all manner of hip artistic endeavors, musical and otherwise. In addition to Relaxed Muscle, his cheeky on-again/off-again dance project with Richard Hawley, Cocker kept himself busy musically with contributions to soundtracks and collaborations with Charlotte Gainsbourg. Two acclaimed solo albums followed -- 2006's Jarvis and 2009's Further Complications -- before he took a step back to focus on DJ work for BBC Radio 6 Music. 2017's Room 29 -- with Chilly Gonzales -- was his next major recording project before he formed the improvisational act Jarv Is. That band's debut, Beyond the Pale, arrived in 2020, and was followed by a Cocker solo album, Chansons d'Ennui Tip-Top, which accompanied Wes Anderson's 2021 film The French Dispatch.
