Known for her delicate piano ballads, singer/songwriter Karen Jacobsen made a name for herself in her native Australia before moving to America. Becoming famous for writing and performing songs for the piano at the age of seven, she still packed up and moved to America when she was grown. Moving to New York City, she wrote and recorded As I Am in 2000. She released the album by herself and promoted it through the web, finding an audience with the New York piano-bar crowd as well as with fans of sensitive Baroque pop.
