A nervy, experimental post-punk rock outfit fronted by Grammy Award-winning producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer John Congleton, the Nighty Nite formed in 2011 after the dissolution of Congleton's previous band, the Paper Chase. Joining Congleton in delivering the knotty rhythms, elliptical melodies, and dark, twisted lyrics that serve as the band's foundation are Chris Tignor (Wires Under Tension), Kevin Schneider (Shearwater), and Jordan Geiger (Hospital Ships). The Nighty Nite issued a four-song EP, Dimples, via Bandcamp and Graveface Records shortly after forming, and in 2016 they released their debut studio long-player, Until the Horror Goes, through Fat Possum. ~ James Christopher Monger
