About 46bliss

Electronic-based trio 46Bliss make melodic, '80s-influenced pop. Named after a stop on the NYC subway system, 46Bliss features the diverse talents of vocalist Clare Veniot, keyboardist/vocalist David Cooper, and drummer/electronic musician Jack Freudenheim. Before coming together, each member of the band had a unique upbringing. Veniot grew up in a fishing village in Canada, lived for a year in Paris, and even worked as a seamstress for a traveling Shakespearean acting troupe before moving to NYC to focus on singing. Similarly, Freudenheim grew up in France and took lessons from bebop drummer Kenny Clarke before coming to the U.S. to study Indian and electronic music at Wesleyan University. Cooper studied at Berklee School of Music in Boston, played in various bands, and even co-wrote the musical Captain Gravy: Where Is the Moon? which was featured in the 2003 NYC Fringe Festival before meeting Veniot in the East Village. 46Bliss released its debut album, Pistachio Home, in 1999 and a self-titled album in 2005. You're Not Good followed in 2008. ~ Matt Collar
