In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest wish to become a singer was when, as a child, I saw Elton John perform on a TV variety show. Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Espers, Espers II Fleetwood Mac, The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac (Remastered) The Beatles, The Beatles 1967-1970 (The Blue Album) The first album I ever bought as a kid was "Rumours" by Fleetwood Mac, and I'm still a huge fan of Stevie Nicks. The Beatles' idea that each song is its own little world is amazing. Lastly, I love the Espers, who combine retro and modern feels. Tell us why you chose this song. “Gallows Pole Blues” I wrote this song on my 30th birthday, after I turned on the radio and heard that a man on death row would be executed on my birthday. Jesus was also a victim of capital punishment. I find all of this quite ironic and sad.
