About Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr.

A baritone vocalist in the traditional pop style, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. is best known as the winner of the sixth season of the NBC reality show America's Got Talent. A native of Logan County, West Virginia, Murphy grew up the son of a minister and first began singing in church. In 2003, an appearance at a local arts-and-crafts fair jump-started his career. In 2011, Murphy auditioned for and later won America's Got Talent. He sang Frank Sinatra's "My Way" during his final performance. Murphy released his debut album, That's Life, on Sony in November of 2011. ~ Matt Collar
