In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One day when I was a kid I opened up my parents record cabinet. There was one particularly wild looking record that drew my attention: “Hair”, which I now know to be a statement re the impact of the Summer of Love on US culture. It got under my skin. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Fugazi, In On the Kill Taker Miles Davis, Kind of Blue Nas, Illmatic 1. Lush, evocative, accessible yet challenging. The breaths between chords contain worlds. 2. This one perfectly embodies everything important about punk. Startling in its impact. 3. Tell us why you chose this song. “Exit Wounds” We always wanted to make music that didn’t necessarily need to club you over the head. I wanted to talk about experience in a way that could be open to interpretation. This was the first time I felt we really demonstrated growth for me as lyricist.
