About Lungfish
Baltimore drone-punk band Lungfish have the unique distinction of being the only band on Dischord Records not from Washington D.C. Led by poet/artist Daniel Higgs, Lungfish use sludgy hypnotic riffs reminiscent of Black Sabbath to frame Higgs's shamanic lyrics, which are delivered with a fierce punk yowl. The band has been together since the late 1980s and released numerous albums. Higgs himself has released several solo albums of fractured, experimental folk music in addition to having his paintings shown in various galleries in the Baltimore/D.C. area.
