Bassholes

About Bassholes

A vehicle for the genius soul of musician Don Howland, the Bassholes formed in Columbus, Ohio in the early 1990s following the dissolution of the similarly roots minded outfit the Gibson Brothers. Howland and whoever he could find to beat the skins played a twisted and tortured version of the blues that never received the attention given to other punked up artists such as Jon Spencer and the White Stripes. The Bassholes recorded numerous singles and albums for a variety of independent labels throughout the '90s, and Howland also released the solo album THE LAND BEYOND THE MOUNTAINS in 2002. As of the late '00s the Bassholes were still very much alive and kicking.
