The Necks are a piano trio from Sydney, Australia. While they have drawn favorable comparisons to Krautrock groups like Can and Faust, they inhabit their own unique terrain. Pianist Chris Abrahams, bassist Lloyd Swanton, and drummer Tony Buck usually offer single, basic, melodic, and rhythmic figures repeated over an extended period of time that transform into something else entirely as sonic, textural, and musical variations are introduced.
