Formerly of early-'80s synth pop emulators the Clears, Shelby Bryant is a Memphis, TN, high-school math teacher who likes to experiment with four-track-inspired songwriting on his off hours. Residing in the Bible Belt has lent a thumping gospel texture to his less-earthy inclinations.
