About The Emeralds
The Emeralds were a quartet from Hampshire whose sound evolved from pop/rock to a bluesier brand of U.K. rock in the course of two singles for English Decca in 1965. Their producer for their second single, "King Lonely the Blue" (a remake of "Take a Heart" by the Sorrows, which has endured to be reissued) was none other than Shadows drummer Tony Meehan. The group might've staked out territory similar to that of the original Moody Blues but they were unable to last. ~ Bruce Eder
