About Silly Wizard
With roots in traditional Scottish songs, Gordon Jones and Bob Thomas formed the folk band Silly Wizard in 1972. The group shuffled through a bewildering number of line-ups before issuing their self-titled debut in 1976. After a well-received follow-up, the band recorded "Take The High Road" in 1980, the original theme for a long-lived Scottish television series of the same name. During the early '80s, the band intercepted a bootleg recording, titled LIVE IN EDINBURGH, before it could be released, and won the first bootlegging case in Scottish history.
